Jesus sent out His disciples before they had the Holy Ghost! He told them to go and heal the sick. These signs will follow them that believe. Faith is an obedient action. If you’ll obey, God will do His part.

Eph 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”

God wants the end time harvest to happen right here in America.

The end times attitude is trusting more in self than in God. Faith is being attacked.

Luke 18:2-8 “Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

Jesus knew there would be attacks against your faith and the church. See yourself as you are in His eyes. You can’t think all is well when all is not.

The word ‘shield’ in the Greek means ‘a large shield’ like the big square ones the size of a door. These shield people from all the attacks of the enemy.

Prov 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”

Gen 15:1 “After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.”

Deuteronomy 33:29 “Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.”

In the Old Testament, there are two shields used, one is small, like a scaly skin of a crocodile, the other is a large shield with an armament in it with a big spike.

Jesus prayed for your faith.

Luke 22:32 “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

You may stumble, but don’t let your faith fail.

John 17:20 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;”

There is a good fight, the fight of faith.

1 Tim 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”

Respond with faith.

Rev 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

They held fast to their faith. They kept the faith.

Jesus talked about measures of faith and principles of faith.

Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

Faith is taking the Word of God and acting on it. You rejoice over a letter from the bank that says your house is paid off, but it’s only a piece of paper. Why don’t you do that with God’s Word?

You need to move your faith from little faith to great faith. The principle is submitting to authority (being under authority) and speaking through that authority.

Everything that was made was made by the Word of God. Everything has to submit to that Word.

Psalm 138:2 “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

We’re strong on invoking the name of Jesus, but we’re weak in speaking the Word to our situations. Shake yourself and learn to walk and speak according to His Word. Learn the principle of speaking Words of faith.

Mat 8:5-10 “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.”

(Luke 7 contains the same story.) This was a Roman, an enemy of the Jews. Jesus showed humanity to the world, being the Word in flesh and completely submitted. We are born again by that same Word. We must understand being under His authority.

This Roman understood authority, divine authority. Speak the Word only. Speak the Word in the face of every defiant foe. It’s a principle of military life. This Roman was under submission to his superiors and his soldiers had to obey, just as he did. You are not the authority, God is. When you do your part, He will do His.

Mat 15:21-28 “Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.”

This woman based her faith on a divine principle God had put in place, leaving the corners of their fields to the poor and the travelers, not just the grain, but also the olives and grapes.

Leviticus 23:22 “And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.”

Jesus taught very seriously about the power of our words. Healing is the gift from the Lord.

Mat 12:35-37 “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

Three things shall judge us on that day, the Word of God, our own words, and our own deeds as members of the body.

Prov 18:20-21 “A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

You have the power to bring life to people or death by the words of your own mouth.

Rom 14:23 “And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

Psalm 39:1 “I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.”

Psalm 59:12 “For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.”

Numbers 14:27-30 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me. 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: 29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me. 30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.”

Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

Col 4:6 “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”

Mark 11:22-24 “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”

We are the transference of His authority. When we speak according to His Word, things happen.

One of the greatest ways to show that we believe what we receive is to Praise Him. You need to rejoice at His Word. It will happen. Praise!

Praising God ministers faith to yourself!

Mat 9:20-22 “And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: 21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.”

She touched the tassels of His prayer shawl (healing in His wings). She knew if she could just touch, it would happen. This was a touch of faith.

Your faith is contagious. People get healed by the faith of others. (Remember the paralytic.) Your faith can lift people out of their darkness by your witness. They can get hold of hope because of your Word of faith.

Let your words minister grace to the hearers.

1 Peter 4:11 “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

We are living in a time of fear, chemical warfare, biological weapons, etc. The Bible speaks about this. Take the shield of faith and quench the fiery darts of the devil!

Psalm 91:1-16 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

Mat 4:23-24 “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.”

Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Disobedience is of the devil. If you obey, God will do great things.

God gives you power, authority, over these things. That was before Pentecost. Speak His promises until it becomes part of you.

Mat 12:15 “But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;”

Luke 6:19 “And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.”

Mat 8:16 “When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:”

1 Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

John 20:26-29 “And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”

You speak to the mountain. Don’t give up. It’s not about many words, it’s about God’s Word. He will do His part. He will heal. That mountain will obey! The devil will try your faith, but you’ve got to fight that good fight of FAITH! Just obey and God will work. Become a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. It isn’t how you feel, it’s what the Word of God says.
