Protected By Sacrifice

LambI Sam 16: 1-2 “And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.

Samuel was a prophet of Israel. Before Israel was a kingdom, it was led by prophets and judges. He was a prophet before Israel had kings. He was the son of Hannah who prayed for a son and she would give him back to God. He was God’s answer. He learned to follow God at a young age. None of his words fell to the ground. The people loved him and knew and respected his walk with the Lord.

The people wanted a king. They wanted to be like other nations—like the world.

I Sam 10:17-19 “And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpeh; And said unto the children of Israel, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all kingdoms, and of them that oppressed you: And ye have this day rejected your God, who himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto him, Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.”

It is a very fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God. He is mighty. The people rejected God and instead wanted a human king over them. God delivered the people from the king of Egypt and led them faithfully, but the people rejected him. Then, the people wanted a king according to the world’s standards. Saul served God and then got a big head. God rejected Saul because Saul rejected him.

Samuel wept over Saul. Then, the Lord said, ‘How long will you cry over Saul?’ Saul was a type of ‘form and religion’, while David’s kingdom was a kingdom of ‘love and relationship’. David’s kingdom was better.

I Sam 15:26 “And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.”

Samuel knew that Saul would kill him if he knew that he was fixing to anoint another man as king.

God said, ‘Don’t worry. Tell him you’re going to perform a sacrifice.’ The enemy will never know what you’re up to, if you stay with God and sacrifice. You can stand at the gates of hell and do the work of the Lord. You are protected by the sacrifice.

It was time to get an anointing on. Nothing will stop the anointing if you bring a sacrifice. If you put forth the sacrifice, there is no enemy that can stop us from doing what God wants us to do. We are protected by sacrifice.

Your life is hid with Christ. He died on a cross and it is finished. The blood of the lamb and the sacrifice on the cross set us free from the power of Satan and darkness. How can we fight the devil? Sacrifice of food, time, energy. We can get people out of hell (here in life) by our sacrifice.

Daniel 10:10-13 “And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.”

Day one happens and day two happens and I can’t get through. The messenger angel couldn’t get through. 21 Days goes by—Daniel fasted and prayed and God sent a warring angel and the messenger angel got through! What dispatched the angel? It was a man named Daniel who decided to push back the plate and get rid of the distractions. He got desperate enough to do whatever he had to in order to hear from God. God answered his sacrifice. He honored it and sent a warrior angel and answered Daniel’s prayer. God will set people free because of our sacrifice.

Daniel didn’t get the credit. He was freaked out by the angel. God got the glory.

Our fast doesn’t glorify us. It glorifies God. Our focus is on Him. When we sacrifice, lives are set free. Satan has to loose his hold.

Put Jesus in the center of your life!

If the church will pray, God will do it. If the church rejects God, God will reject the church.

I believe in grace. I know the grace of God. I am a result of the grace of God. I know what it means to be pulled out the pits of hell. I don’t deserve the blessings I’ve received. But, I understand that God is not just a genie in a lamp. There are things we must do to activate His blessings.

Now, God is love—completely unconditional.

Every promise in the Bible, however, is conditional.

Every time you flip the switch, the light comes on. If you don’t flip the switch, the light won’t come on. “If my people will humble themselves…then will I hear from heaven.”

We want revival, there is an ‘if’ attached to that. Revival is on purpose. A whole bunch of prayers get the hungry to church. God has called us to sacrifice.

Joel 2:12-13 “Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.”

If you really want it, bleed on the inside. Rend your heart and not your garments.

Joel 2:14-16 “Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.”

The call is to everybody to come to church. You come to church and get serious and then we’ll talk, says the Lord.

Joel 2:17 “Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?”

When we get serious with God, we can say good bye form and religion and we can say, ‘Hello relationship and love and healing and revival.’ This is an opportunity to have authority and anointing and go into the enemy himself and pull out souls. You can start a church at the gates of hell if you have love, anointing, and sacrifice. If you’ve got that, you are protected. It’s like a fireman with his yellow suit or an astronaut with his space suit.

If you’ve got love, anointing, and sacrifice, you’ve got what you need.

Joel 2:18-21 “Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people. Yea, the LORD will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen: But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things. Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things.”

Corn and oil represent the blessings of God. Not only will crops grow, but the devil will be kicked out! People will be delivered. Clouds get pushed away because of sacrifice.
