The law of the harvest: Psalm 126:6 “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bring his sheaves [with him].” We go forth with tears and seed. If you do that, the doubt will be gone. You will come back with sheaves. God’s law of the harvest is irrevocable.
- Go forth. It’s inconvenient. The purpose of the church is to reach and save the lost. We’ve got to do things that aren’t easy. It’s not easy to go forth. You must go where sinners are because they won’t necessarily come to you. You are a light to them.
- Weep. There is a difference between preaching the gospel and preaching the gospel with LOVE. We need to be burdened for the lost. Water our couches with tears for the lost. It’s not about results, it’s about your burden. If you go forth with the law of the harvest, weeping, bearing precious seed, you will have some results. Hannah was in ‘bitterness of soul’. She wept hard for a child and then vowed a vow. She gave birth to a prophet named Samuel. Not one word he said fell to the ground. He spoke salvation to the people of Israel.
- Bearing precious seed. You’ve got to tell the truth, but do it in love.
- You shall doubtless come again with rejoicing. The law of the harvest is such that if you follow it, you will have results. Rachel had a burden ‘give me a child’, and she birthed a man—Joseph—that would save his people.
Mat 13:23 “But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
