Mar 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me…”

Even the faith to believe is from God.

Power here means ‘You shall receive ability, God-given ability.’ You are witnessing about something all the time, like your favorite coffee or donuts. It might as well be the truth, make an eternal difference in somebody’s life.

Acts 1:8 “…both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Bible study—Plant the Word of God in people and it will make a difference.

Col 1:5-6 “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:”

This is the exact wording that Jesus used when he said, ‘Go ye into all the world.’ Those disciples did go into all the known world at that time. There is even evidence that Peter preached in England. A church was established in Scotland and Ireland as well in the first century. Paul always went into the Jewish communities first and then into the rest of the community.

Col 1:23 “If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;”

This was written approximately 30 years after the Day of Pentecost. They didn’t have airplanes or trains or cars. How did they do it? They walked or rode a donkey. They took their time getting there. Sometimes, we’re so destiny minded, we can’t even enjoy the trip. The journey was part of the success, because along the way, Paul was teaching and training disciples.

They didn’t have printing presses or tracts or books or copy machines or internet or telephones. They did it all by word of mouth, one on one, face to face. When we try to mass evangelize, instead of speeding it up, we slow it down.

God’s Math

Act 2:47 “Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

The Lord added to the church daily. They had public meetings AND house to house.

Acts 5:14 “And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)”

In the beginning, the Lord ADDED to their numbers. Addition—One winning everyone. We can’t bring a person in and then say to the pastor, ‘Here you go Pastor, I’ll go get another one.’ We need to help raise those babies.

How long will it take to reach 7 billion, the earth’s current population? 1917 years. We have to think differently. Change your mentality about church growth and what we’re here for. It’s about the fact that we are here for a purpose to preach the gospel to every creature and to build His kingdom, in our children, our families, and to reach others.

Act 6:1-2 “And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.”

Problems open a door of opportunity. When there’s a problem, it’s not time to quit, it’s time to go to work.

Act 6:3-7 “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

Now, the Lord began multiplying the church. Multiplication is ‘each one reaching one and teaching them how to reach another one’. Make Disciples.

Teach all nations is a command to make disciples. It’s not just to the leaders, it’s to all of us. If you’ve got the Holy Ghost, you’ve got the power to make disciples.

Ti 2:2 “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

There are four generations in this one verse:

  • ‘me’ Paul
  • ‘you’ Timothy
  • Faithful men
  • Others

Paul kept training more and training others to train. Paul was multi-level marketing. This led to exponential growth.

In order to reach our world, we must work like Jesus worked. It’s not hard. It’s easy.

If one person wins one soul per year and makes a disciple of him, choosing a worthy man (or woman), full of the Holy Ghost, teaching him or her to walk daily in the Lord, to be faithful to God and to the church, to take care of the business of the kingdom, then that person does the same, there will be exponential growth. There are no bench warmers in God’s Kingdom. If one person takes a year to train a disciple, when he is ready, there are now two ready to each win another disciple. After two years, we’ve got four total. After three years, we have 8 disciples. Then, after four years, we’ve got 16 disciples. After six years, we’ve got 64 disciples. The first person keeps reaching and winning and training one new disciple per year and each disciple in turn wins and trains a new disciple per year.

After 8 years, one person has only won eight people, but each of those eight also win one. So, after ten years we’ve got over 1000. The key is making disciples. It can’t be just converts. It must be each one winning disciples. After 15 years, over 30,000. It’s all about making disciples. In year 20, over 1 million. At year 25, over 30 million. At year 30, we’ve got over 1 billion. After 33 years, it’s over 8 billion souls.

If we just work the plan and make disciples, we can win entire cities, nations, one soul at a time. We can do this!

Each one reach one!
