I Chronicles 16:23-25 “Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation. Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations. For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.” (KJV).
Psalm 145:3 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.”
David said, “O magnify the LORD with me, let us exalt his name together,” Psalms 34:3 (KJV).
When we magnify the Lord it doesn’t make Him any greater. He doesn’t need us to make him greater. He doesn’t change. If you look at somebody with a magnifying glass, they look bigger. As we magnify the Lord, our perception of Him changes. We are able to see Him bigger than we saw Him before. Magnifying the Lord helps us to realize His greatness more.
All night and all day angels are crying to one another Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord. They’re telling each other that. They’re not telling God that. They’re telling each other.
God’s greatness is unsearchable. The Hebrew word for great is ‘gadol’—to be large in various senses in body, proportion, and honor. According to how you see God, you will begin to live your life. We ought to sing and talk about God all the time. How great you think your God is will proportionately relate to how much you praise Him.
Our God is greatly to be praised. Our God is the deliverer. He saves us from our sins, He does miracles still today, He is GREAT.
Praising God is walking a lifestyle in praise and honor to the Lord.
- God fills all time. Yesterday, tomorrow, today, He is there.
- He fills all of space. He is everywhere. He is always there.
- His mighty acts are unsearchable.
God is not confined to the real of time like we are. I have a short amount of time, but God is not limited by time. He can even go into your past and erase some things. The blood of Jesus and forgiveness goes into our past and changes some things. He is in our past, present, and our future. He told Moses, the I Am sent me. I Am He that was, and is, and is to come. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He’s A and Z. He’s the beginning and the end. Our problem is we only see from A to B, maybe to C or up to E, but we can’t see all the way to Z. God wrote the book of your life. God knows the future. He can change it any time. He is the author of our lives. God was preparing our hearts years ago.
The clouds are just dust particles for the Lord’s feet. He fills all of time and space. He is bigger than we imagine. He is great, greater than me. He is greater than pain, bigger than the devil, bigger than the situation that you are in right now. Jesus said, ‘say to the mountain ‘be thou moved’. You’ve got to understand your God. If you understand how big your God is, your praise will reflect that. Your life will change.
